The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has announced the launch of its revamped project application portal, which will go live on May 5. The updated platform is designed to simplify and streamline the processes related to housing project registrations, extensions, and corrections for real estate developers across the state.
According to a statement by MahaRERA, the new portal will allow promoters to submit applications for new project registrations, request extensions on existing projects, and make necessary corrections to previously submitted details. It also introduces improved functionality for submission tracking, offering a more transparent and efficient experience for all stakeholders.
Importantly, developers who have already applied for registration, extension, or correction through the current system will not be required to reapply. Their applications will continue to be processed under the existing system and remain unaffected by the transition.
The portal changes apply exclusively to developers and promoters. For homebuyers and real estate agents, the processes and access remain unchanged.
MahaRERA also emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate and up-to-date profiles on the new system. Developers already registered with the authority, as well as new entrants, are advised to either update their existing profiles or create new ones. This can be done without incurring any additional fees.
Sanjay Daga, Founder and CEO of Anex Advisory, welcomed the initiative, stating that the updated portal significantly improves transparency and operational efficiency in Maharashtra’s real estate sector. He highlighted features such as detailed floor-wise apartment data, a more user-friendly interface, and enhanced complaint-tracking mechanisms. “This upgrade ensures accuracy, accountability, and faster resolution of issues—paving the way for a more transparent and streamlined regulatory environment,” Daga said.
With this technological overhaul, MahaRERA aims to modernize its systems and better support developers while boosting transparency in the state’s real estate ecosystem.
