ICICI Venture Funds Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of ICICI Bank, has announced the transfer of its private equity (PE) and real estate fund operations to ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company (AMC). This strategic consolidation is designed to streamline investment services and enhance operational efficiency by housing all asset management functions under one entity.

ICICI Prudential AMC—51% owned by ICICI Bank—will now oversee private equity and real estate funds as part of its expanded investment offerings. ICICI Venture will continue to serve a critical role by providing advisory services and managing residual funds, even after the transition.

According to ICICI Bank, the move is not expected to materially impact ICICI Prudential AMC’s financials, with associated costs considered non-significant. As of March 2025, ICICI Venture managed several PE and real estate funds, which will now be integrated into the AMC’s portfolio.

The consolidation is pending regulatory approvals and the finalization of definitive agreements. It is part of ICICI Bank’s broader plan to simplify and unify its investment management business, positioning ICICI Prudential AMC as a more comprehensive platform capable of serving both institutional and retail investors across a wider range of asset classes.

Market analysts view the move as a step toward strengthening ICICI Prudential AMC’s market positioning by enabling it to leverage expertise in PE and real estate investments. The integration is expected to improve product diversity and attract a broader investor base.

Both ICICI Venture and ICICI Prudential AMC are working closely to ensure a seamless transition once regulatory approvals are secured.
